Director and Screenwriter
Salvatore Frisina

He teaches “Theories and Techniques of Mass Communication” at the University of Padua.

He conducted research at the UCLA School of Film, Television and Theater. He worked as an editor for Troma Entertainment in New York and as an assistant director at the Prague Film School.

His first short film, “E-Lena”, was selected in competition at the Science+Fiction Film Festival in Trieste. In 2026, “I Don’t Trust Artists” won the Most Insane Story Award at the Dasein AI Film Festival in San Francisco and the Audience Award at the River Film Festival. His latest short film, “Una buona idea”, won Best Screenplay at the Oblivion Frames Film Festival in Lisbon.

Impossible films to make

Magma Showdown

A film-writing and staging workshop conceived and led by Salvatore Frisina. Stories developed collectively become theatrical readings, also featuring live music and sound design. In 2026 the project is supported by the University of Padua through the “ex Mille Lire” funding programme.
